SFS Drain is a manufacturer of composite drainage channels specifically designed for athletics track projects. The product range includes straight channels, radius channels, flush covers, inspection chambers, sand trap channels and soft-head kerbs — all engineered for track-edge drainage continuity.

What is the difference between straight and radius channels? expand_more

Straight channels are used along the linear sections and perimeter of the athletics track. Radius (curved) channels follow the bend geometry so the drainage line stays continuous through the curves without improvised site cutting.

Are SFS Drain channels World Athletics approved? expand_more

SFS Drain products are developed in accordance with World Athletics (formerly IAAF) requirements for athletics track facilities. Certification details are available upon request through the engineering team.

What standard applies to athletics track drainage? expand_more

Athletics track drainage should comply with World Athletics Track and Field Facility standards and, where applicable, DIN 18035 (Sports Grounds — Outdoor Athletics Facilities). SFS Drain products are designed to meet these standard requirements.

Can SFS channels be used around sand pits? expand_more

Yes. The SFS Sand Trap Channel is specifically designed for long jump and triple jump sand pit edges. It combines sand control with water drainage in a single channel and grate detail.

What cover options are available? expand_more

SFS Drain offers flush middle covers and removable top covers/grates. Middle covers create a smooth surface transition at the track edge. Top covers and grates are selected based on the surface finish and maintenance access requirements.

How do I specify the correct channel configuration? expand_more

Share the track layout, bend radii, outlet positions and jump pit locations with our engineering team. We will recommend the correct mix of straight channels, radius channels, covers, inspection chambers and sand trap details for your project.

What material are SFS channels made from? expand_more

SFS Drain channels are manufactured from composite (polymer concrete). This material offers high structural strength, smooth hydraulic surfaces for efficient flow, and resistance to the chemicals used in synthetic athletics track surfaces.

Do you provide CAD drawings? expand_more

Yes. Technical drawings in DXF and DWG formats are available for all SFS Drain products. Installation guides and product data sheets are also available for download from the documentation page.

How are inspection chambers integrated? expand_more

Composite inspection chambers are placed at outlet points and key junctions in the drainage layout. They provide maintenance access and connection points that keep the full drainage line serviceable after installation.
